Metal roofing
A metal roof sheds snow and water readily and lasts a long time — a choice worth weighing on the right building.

What metal roofing gives you
- A long service life compared with an asphalt roof
- Snow and rain shed readily off the panels
- Panels that span large, simple roof planes cleanly
- A surface that will not curl, cup or lose granules
What to think about before choosing it
Metal costs more to install than shingles, and snow sliding off a metal slope has to be planned for — over a doorway, a walkway or a deck that matters. Complicated roofs with many dormers, valleys and penetrations take more detailing in metal than in shingles. It is a good roof, but it is not automatically the right roof for every building.
Where it tends to make sense
Simple, well-shaped roof planes; buildings where the owner wants to re-roof once and not think about it again; and places where shedding snow is an advantage rather than a problem.

Re-roofing
Replacing a roof that has reached the end of its life — the old covering comes off, the deck is checked, and a new roof system goes on.

The most common roof covering on homes in this area — an asphalt shingle roof, installed over proper underlayment and flashing.

Flat & EPDM roofing
Low-slope and flat roofs cannot be shingled — they need a membrane. EPDM is a rubber membrane made for exactly that.
